Rowan Sebastian Atkinson (lahir 6 Januari 1955; umur 56 tahun) adalah seorang pelawak, pemeran, dan penulis Inggris, terkenal karena film seri televisi Blackadder dan Mr. Bean. Menurut The Observer, ia adalah salah satu dari 50 orang terlucu di Inggris. Ia dilahirkan di Consett, County Durham pada 1955 dari keluarga Eric Atkinson, seorang petani dan direktur perusahaan, dan istrinya Ella May (n�e Bambridge). Kakaknya adalah politikus Rodney Atkinson. Ia bersekolah di Durham Choristers School, kemudian St Bees School, dan mempelajari teknik elektro di Newcastle University. Ketika di sekolah, ia sekelas dengan mantan perdana menteri Tony Blair. Ia kemudian meraih gelar M.Sc. dari Queens College, Oxford.



Ia mulai muncul di televisi pada acara Not the Nine O'Clock News, diikuti dengan The Black Adder, dan kemudian Mr. Bean. Atkinson telah membintangi iklan untuk Hitachi, Fujifilm, donor darah, dan Barclaycard. Selain itu ia muncul dalam film-film Never Say Never Again, Four Weddings and a Funeral, The Lion King, Rat Race, Love Actually, dan memainkan peran utama dalam Bean, Mr. Bean's Holiday, dan Johnny English.



Atkinson menikah dengan Sunetra Sastry pada 1990, dikaruniai dua anak, Lily dan Benjamin, dan tinggal di desa Oxfordshire. Ia memiliki koleksi mobil dan menulis untuk majalah Car dan Evo. Koleksi mobilnya kebanyakan terdiri dari Aston Martin, termasuk DB7 yang digunakan dalam Johnny English. Mobil Aston Martin V8 Zagato miliknya memiliki plat nomor "COM1C", dan dikendarainya dalam film The Tall Guy.
