Orang Perancis menamakan lapangan terbang ini Courchevel Altiport dan bukan Airport karena lokasinya yang berada di ketinggian puncak pengunungan Alpen Perancis.



Panjang landasan pacu cuma sekitar 1/7 dari panjang landasan pacu Soekarno-Hatta.



Landasan yang pendek ini ternyata mempunyai kemiringan sebesar 18%. Tidak sembarangan pilot bisa landing dan take off di lapangan terbang ini.
