Default ICW: Polisi Belum Layak Pimpin KPK
TEMPO Interaktif, Jakarta - Indonesia Corruption Watch menilai calon pimpinan KPK berlatar belakang polisi belum layak dipilih. Alasannya, hingga kini institusi kepolisian belum bersih dari korupsi. "Kami masih ragu meski orang itu mimilki kemampuan," kata Koordinator Divisi Hukum dan Monitoring Peradilan ICW, Febridiansyah, Minggu (13/6).
Hingga Jumat (11/6), pendaftar calon pimpinan KPK berlatar belakang TNI, Polri, maupun purnawirawan berjumlah 16 orang. Mereka telah melengkapi berkas pendaftaran.
Menurut Febri, kepolisian seharusnya menjadi sasaran pertama dan utama pemberantasan korupsi. Alasannya, kepolisian merupakan ujung tombak pemberantasan korupsi. Sayangnya, upaya membersihkan kepolisian dari mafia korupsi belum optimal.
Pemerintah, kata dia, bisa meniru pemberantasan korupsi di Hongkong. Kepolisian di sana menjadi target utama pemberantasan korupsi.
Karena itu, ICW meminta panitia seleksi tak gegabah memilih pimpinan KPK. Apalagi, pimpinan KPK sebelumnya, Antasari Azhar, terjerat kasus pidana. "Panitia harus pilih yang terbaik," ujarnya.
