Pelukisnya adalah Doug Landis, pelukis sketsa pensil dari Amerika Serikat. Ia melukis dengan menggunakan mulutnya ! Sebelum ia mengalami cedera sewaktu adu gulat di SMA, Doug bukanlah seorang pelukis. Cedera tersebut mengkibatkan kelumpuhan lehernya sampai ke bawah.

Sejak ia mengalami cedera tersebut, Doug banyak menghabiskan waktunya menonton di depan TV sampai pada suatu hari saudara laki-lakinya, Monte, menantangnya untuk belajar melukis dan menyelipkan sebuah pensil di mulut Doug ! Doug kemudian dengan sabar banyak menghabiskan waktunya belajar melukis memakai pensil dengan menggunakan mulutnya, yang akhirnya menghasilkan gambar-gambar yang apik.
