Sedikitnya 15 orang dilaporkan tewas, sementara 43 lainnya hilang saat topan Talas melintasi wilayah barat dan tengah Jepang pada Minggu, 4 September 2011. Angin kencang diiringi hujan lebat membuat beberapa daerah tertimpa longsor.
