Benatia joined the Bundesliga champions this summer in an acrimonious transfer from Rudi Garcia's side, having played alongside 38-year-old Totti during the 2013-14 season.
And the Moroccan admits he has been deeply impressed by the professional standard of his new surroundings, paying particular tribute to the "modest" Lahm - a player he believes shares many of the best qualities of Totti.
