Tampaknya, soal Maruti Suzuki India meluncurkan RIII Januari tahun depan yang diwartakan pertengahan Mei lalu benar adanya. Itu karena multipurpose vehicle 7-penumpang itu "tertangkap" kamera fotografer majalah AutocarIndia sedang melakukan tes jalan di Rajasthan, Selasa (14/6/2011). Dan gambar ini merupakan kemunculan perdana RIII di mata media.

Dari segi desain, sosok RIII beda jauh dengan konsep yang pernah dipamerkan pada Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) tahun lalu. Bentuk depan lebih mirip Ritz atau Splash, hanya bodi lebih panjang karena untuk menampung tujuh penumpang. Terus, bagian moncong lebih landai dan grill lebih kecil (tidak sampai ke bawah, membelah bemper seperti konsepnya). Kemiripan hanya pada lampu depan.

Selain India, Suzuki berencana memasarkan RIII ke Indonesia guna menantang dominasi Toyota Avanza sebagai mobil terlaris. Tapi, calon "pembunuh Avanza" ini terlihat tak lebih baik dari segi desain.

Tinggal sekarang masalah harga. Jika RIII dibanderol di atas Rp 140 juta, tak akan bisa menggoyang pasar Avanza.

india kok bisa semakin canggih gitu ya technologinya, teruskapan indonesia bisa kayak git. Mobil smk yng rencana untuk mobil dinas aja masih gagal.
